The
2008 Monster Organic Ball is a ball not to be missed. This year
the ball is being rolled out in the heart of Oranmore, Co Galway,
right opposite the Quality Inn, in a fully heated and fully
seated marquee. It has expanded its entertainment to the maximum
to facilitate everyone’s taste, enjoy 10 hours of music
including country & western, rock and roll, trad, Irish
dancers, Disco band, folk and eclectic music.
When
it comes to food the Monster Organic Ball knows how to make
your mouth water with gourmet organic food being served all
day. With Marco’s catering rolling out everything from
chowder, veg soup, steaks, burgers, chicken fillets, salads,
pasta, baked potatoes, vegetable curry and much more besides.
While Athenry foods serve up the best of home baked brown bread
with Kinvara Organic Salmon as well as a host of “sinfull”
yet scrumptious desserts. The catering will also including delicious
coffee and tea from Africa as well as lily O Brien chocolates
and as many glasses of organic wine from Coma wines to wash
it all down. The whole catering event will be over seen by Justin
Cormer and Martin Burke and staff – so be ready for the
best of all that food and wine can offer you.
So
while you are being entertained and nourished, the bar ran by
Maggie Mays Bar, who is noted far and wide to be the “best
bar man this side of the river Shannon” has lined up highly
experienced bar and floor staff to cater for all your beverage
needs from their full free bar.
The
funds raised from the ticket sales go directly to the Irish
Charity AIDS Partnership with Africa, who are totally focused
on alleviating the suffering and plight of those communities
who are affected by the HIV/AIDS virus across Ethiopia and
Tanzania. Last year the ball raised €100,000 and that
money directly helped 1000’s of children, who were orphaned
by HIV/AIDS and were living on the streets alone, abandoned
and destitute. APA utilised part of the funds raised to roll
out AIDS prevention and care educational programmes to women,
men, teenagers, religious, local leaders and medical staff.
Training is also provided for counsellors to assist children
and adults to come to terms with the devastating impact of
the AIDS pandemic. Medicines, protective materials and testing
kits are purchased for hospitals, clinics and out reach stations.
Father Owen Lambert, founder of the charity said in a recent
interview that “AIDS is like a slow progressive tsunami
that never ends and takes more and more lives with it every
day. It incredible to believe that across the continent of
Africa 8000 men, women and children loose their lives to a
treatable virus called AIDS every 24 hours. It’s a cause
worthy of your support and your attention”. For more
